Job Description: ICE contracted with the U.S. Department of Justice to design and build a 250 person minimum security facility within Fort Dix in New Jersey. The scope of the project included all architectural, construction and related services to provide the new satellite camp. The building is approximately 40,000 square feet with 2 dormitories on each side of the core services area. The layout was designed to accommodate future expansion of the dormitories from the end of the buildings. Included in the project was a fully operational food service with a wide variety of fixed equipment. Utility services were also provided. In an effort to provide optimal value to the government, ICE proposed a pre-engineering building with a standing seam metal roof and wall panels as an alternative to a structural steel building. This alternative approach was used for this project.
